I’m your pain you can feel – sad but true!
I don’t know about you, but if you study at NBU and you are from the people, who will notice when something is wrong, I am sure that you have already saw the harsh reality, that our library and especially the IT books needs renewing.
The fact that at New Bulgarian University is circulating large amount of money and we don’t have even proper books was making me angry for a long time. Because I am from these people, who will never keep silent about something like this, I decided to take this into my hands.
What I have done is this. Here I talked with many people from the whole department – Informatics and we all, together, decided what do we need! Far away from being the person, who can say, which books do we need exactly, I searched for help and I received it! Here you can see the list of all the books, we decided that are going to be useful! As you can see, the books are mostly in English, but hey if we can’t read in English, where are we going anyway?
The list is already in the library, signed from the person, who needs to sign it and now we just wait. I have talked to Tania Doldulova, who helped so much and she said to me that at the beginning of in the middle of April, we will have all the books bought.
However, there is something interesting! What you can find on the shelves is not everything! There are a lot more books, which are not there, but they are available only via the e-catalog. The truth is that only a few people know this and that is why I have asked her to make a seminar, in which, someone from the library to explain us how to use the catalog, so to find what we need easier and faster. Of course, she agreed, because years ago, she was the one, who wanted to make a seminar like this, but she was rejected from … someone. Now, the seminar will be held, but we think it’s better first to have our new books and a week after that, for example, to have the seminar, which I am talking for.
Last but not at least, for everyone, who hadn’t participated in the selection of the books – don’t worry! I asked, when can we order again and Tania said that at the beginning of April, the library is about to have a new budget, which means that we are very close to our new list. I can already feel it …
