Customize your login screen in Windows 7

Customizing everything so to like it is important moment for me even when I talk about my PC.

From some time, I am using Windows 7 and there was only one thing, which bothered me a lot. It was the log in/off screen, which originally is a beautiful abstract blue pictre, which just wasn’t matching with my wallpaper.

One day, I found some time to make a quick search and I found what I was searching for! So, if you have the same problem as I had, these are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Choose the picture you want to set for you login screen
  2. Rename it to “backgroundDefault” (it must be JPG/JPEG)
  3. Run the gpedit.msc in the Start Menu
  4. Then you need to go in Computer Configuration>Adminstrative Templates>System>Logon Folder and activate the setting “Always use custom logon background” (by clicking right mouse on it -> Edit -> Enable)
  5. Copy your renamed picture in the \Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds
  6. If you don’t have the last two folders – just create them !
  7. Ok, that’s it ! :)

Hope now, you like your new, customized Windows :)
